The traditional public school is one of the few places where people of different cultural backgrounds meet to learn, engage, and invest in community, education, politics, and economics. While the expectation is that everyone will meet at the same place culturally, the truth is, people bring unique experiences and expectations to the table. Because of this, it is important to be prepared to understand and respect the cultural differences teachers, parents, and students will face in the classroom. This course works to help students feel safe and valued in the classroom while valuing their cultural differences.
